The chemistry between Kevin Costner and Diane Lane is real and palpable on the screen, this is the first time they\’ve shared a movie since 2013\’s \”Man of Steel\”, and while they didn\’t exactly blow me away in the comic book movie, they definitely did the work for \”Let Him Go\” which is a standard sounding film but with a few interesting wrinkles to the tried and true formula of looking for a loved one and finding that they\’re unable to leave their situation without a large amount of violence. The film is smartly set in the 1960s, so there\’s an appropriate level of seclusion to scenes set in a North Dakota town, even when they\’re in a diner or clothing store. It\’s an emotionally ambitious movie and sticks the landing.
